Your Abstract at ECCMID 2023
Present your research
Every year ECCMID accepts thousands of abstracts in the form of oral or poster presentations. Presenting authors of abstracts benefit from discussing research with colleagues and expanding the global network.
All abstracts submitted to ECCMID 2023 are reviewed by the panel of experts. While submitting the abstract, you can apply for our grants supporting participation at ECCMID.

Abstracts submitted to ECCMID 2023 should land in one of the following types:
Late-breaking abstracts submission
For novel data that has not been published and generated after regular ECCMID 2023 abstract submission is closed. The ECCMID Programme Committee will review and select abstracts to be presented at ECCMID 2023 during oral presentations or as paper posters and/or ePosters.
This year we will only be accepting abstracts in the following catagories:
- 21. New drugs and vaccines
- 22. Clinical trials
- 23. New and emerging pathogens
- 24. Outbreaks and public health emergencies*
- *Category 24 includes abstracts on infectious disease implications of the war in Ukraine
- Submission: 1 - 15 February 2023
- Review: 18 - 24 February2023
- Notification to the abstract submitters: Early March 2023
Regular abstracts
For novel data that has not been previously presented or published. The ECCMID Programme Committee will review and select abstracts to be presented at ECCMID 2023 during oral presentations or as paper posters and/or ePosters.
- Abstracts have been selected and submitters informed
Case report/series
For a case report/series (featuring a single instructive case or a series of up to 10 cases), emphasise the unique aspects of the case(s) and discuss learning points emerging from the case(s). The ECCMID Programme Committee will review and select abstracts to be presented at ECCMID 2023 during Case sessions or as paper posters and/or ePosters.

CGR cases
For an instructive case to be presented during the prestigious ECCMID 2023 CGR session. The ECCMID Programme Committee will review the abstracts for the CGR session selection.

Important: Abstracts not selected for CGR session will be included in the review with Case report abstracts submitted for ECCMID 2023.
TAE Research Bites – new at ECCMID 2023!!!
For novel data that has not been previously presented or published. The submission is reserved for the ESCMID Young Scientist Member enrolled in CM ID/IC training or a PhD programme who want to increase their chances of being selected for an oral presentation. ESCMID TAE and SAS members will select abstracts to be presented at ECCMID 2023 during the TAE Research Bites session.
